DR TIM LITTLE

BDS Otago | Dentist

Tim has been highly involved in the Auckland Dental Association, serving in the past as President for a year. He continues his involvement by supporting the current President and executive committee. His experience has also meant he was called on to assist the chairman on the Peer Review committee. Tim assists the Dental Council in assessing dental practices with regard to them keeping up with current dental standards.

He is also a foundation member of the New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and also has a keen interest in continuing with further education on implant surgery. Outside interests includes spending time with his family and their three children. He is a keen skier and in the summer month windsurfs, cycles and supports his kids with their sailing and rowing.

DR VICTOR YOUNG

BDS Otago | Dentist

Victor graduated from the University or Otago in 1985 and has been a partner at Avondale Dental since 1990. He is an Auckland Dental Association Welfare Officer, helping his colleagues in times of need. Victor is also an Auckland Dental Association Mentor, helping other dentists with the business and clinical aspects of dentistry. He is a Foundation Member of the New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and serves on committees for New Zealand Dental Association Peer Review and the New Zealand Dental Council. He enjoys delivering high quality dentistry with a caring, personal approach to all his patients. Victor loves to relax with a game of tennis, is a keen skier, golfer and an avid All Blacks supporter watching as many matches as he can. He is married to Liz and has two children.

DR AMY WHITE

BDS Otago | Dentist

A highly skilled and professional dentist, Amy has a strong academic and hard-working background. She graduated from Otago University with first class honours and multiple prizes and scholarships. Amy previously worked as a Dental and Maxillofacial House Surgeon in Christchurch Hospital where she gained a great deal of surgical experience and knowledge. Following this, Amy joined the Avondale Dental team and loved it so much that she became a permanent part of the Practice as part owner in 2018. Amy enjoys the continual learning needed for dentistry, as well as the artistic and surgical hand skills, and helping people take control of their oral health. She is a highly skilled, gentle, and kind dentist.

DR JOSH LITTLE

BDS Adelaide | Dentist

With a background in Nutrition from the University of Otago and a degree in Dentistry from the University of Adelaide, Josh aims to seamlessly combine his expertise in oral care with a deep understanding of overall wellness. Growing up surrounded by dentists, Josh has developed a passion for holistic health and creating vibrant smiles. He is always happy to have an in-depth discussion with his patients about which treatment options may suit their needs.

Beyond the dental chair, he enjoys exploring nature on mountain biking trails and honing his skills on the golf course.

DR BROOKE DALTON

BDS Otago | Dentist

Brooke is a new member of the Avondale Dental team as of January 2023. She graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Distinction. Brooke is friendly and looking forward to meeting and providing both a positive experience and outcome for all her patients. She enjoys the variety involved in general dentistry, as each day looks somewhat different. An ex-elite competitive gymnast, outside of dentistry, Brooke enjoys keeping fit and active by going to the gym, and spending time outdoors with an interest in hiking. She is finding this a great way to explore and learn more about New Zealand and practice her newfound hobby of film photography.

DR MELISSA INGER

BDS Otago | Dentist

Dr Melissa Inger is a talented dentist who excels not only in general dentistry but also in orthodontics, performing both fixed metal braces and Invisalign treatments. 

Melissa earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Distinction from Otago University. She also holds a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology, which enhances her ability to provide compassionate and patient-centred care. 

Melissa will be joining Dr Victor Young's team and their expanding patient base. Melissa and Victor share the same ethical values and personal approach to dentistry, prioritising personalised, high-quality care that focuses on building trusting relationships and delivering good patient outcome. 

In addition to her professional achievements, Melissa and her partner Patrick are proud parents to boy and girl twins. Her experience as a young parent gives her a unique perspective on family-oriented dental care. 

With Melissa's exceptional skills, compassionate nature, and commitment to excellence, we are confident that she will provide outstanding dental care to our patients and contribute to our tradition of excellence. 

NATASHA

Dental Assistant

Natasha joined Avondale Dental in March 2012 and works as a dental assistant for Victor Young. She loves working with all the modern technology and meeting our great patients. She likes working within a great team and making patients feel that visiting the dentist can be a surprisingly pleasant experience.

RAJESHNI

Dental Assistant

Rajeshni has been with Avondale Dental since 2002 and over that time has enjoyed a variety of roles including Charge Sterilising Nurse, Associate Assistant, and now Dental Assistant to Dr Amy White. She gained her dental qualification at The Fiji School of Medicine and a NZDA Qualification in Dental Assisting while working at Avondale Dental. Her many years of experience means that she can easily assist in any sort of procedure.

Although Rajeshni works full time with Dr Amy White she still loves helping out the rest of the team wherever she can to keep the clinic well organised and everyone happy.

JUSTINE BORCOSKIE

Dental Hygienist

Justine is an experienced Dental Hygienist, graduating from the inaugural New Zealand class of 1995. Initially, after graduation she returned to Christchurch where she worked in private practice for two years before relocating to Auckland.

Her primary role as a Dental Hygienist is in preventative oral health and non-surgical treatment of periodontal disease. Thereby helping her patients create a healthy mouth, free of active gum disease.

Over the course of her career, Justine has been an active member of the New Zealand Dental Hygienist's Association (NZDHA), holding the positions of Chairperson of the Christchurch Branch and Secretary of the NZDHA.

MELISSA YEW

BHSc Oral Health | Oral Health Therapist

Melissa graduated from AUT as a Dental Hygienist in 2009. The people are what she loves the most about having a career in oral health.

She loves educating her patients on their oral health and believes that creating a healthy oral environment leads to better overall health.

She also stays current on new technologies, hygiene products and attends continuing education programmes regularly

JAMIE HAWKEN

BHSc Oral Health | Oral Health Therapist

Born and raised in Auckland, Jamie completed the Bachelor of Health Science degree (in Oral Health) at AUT in 2012 and continue to remain passionate about working alongside patience to help support and maintain a high level of oral health.

Since then, he has gained extensive clinical experience working in both the adolescent school program and private practice and pride himself on providing a relaxed calm and painless experience.

Jamie is a team player who is passionate about building genuine, trusting relationships with his patients. In his spare time, Jamie enjoys hitting the gym and getting outdoors with family and friends.

AINSLEY MCINTYRE

BHSc Oral Health | Oral Health Therapist

Ainsley graduated with a BHSc in Oral Health from AUT university in 2019. Over her 3 years of study, her passion developed in helping people achieve optimum oral health. Ainsley’s patients can expect a one-on-one, personalised experience where quality of care and patient education are top priorities. She is confident in caring for all ages from seeing 0-18s for dental examinations and restorative procedures and 18 and over for gum treatments and maintenance using best practice techniques. You will be sure to feel comfortable in the hands of Ainsley with her kind demeanour and gentle treatment approach. Outside of dentistry she enjoys spending time with friends, cooking and keeping fit.

REBECCA

Sterilising Nurse

Rebecca began working in Avondale Dental in 2019. She is excited to start a career in the dental industry and enjoys working in a challenging but rewarding environment with a supportive team of professionals. Rebecca looks forward to learning other skills in the practice.

JASMINA

E4D Technician

Jasmina has been part of Avondale Dental team since 2004. For the first few years she assisted Victor Young as his dental assistant and is also a Certified NZ Dental Assistant.

When the practice purchased a state of the art CAD CAM Crown Design and Milling Centre she was put in charge of this. She is a certified technician of the E4D CAD CAM Crown design and one of the most experienced operators of this technology in New Zealand.

Jasmina has great satisfaction in seeing the high quality crowns that the E4D machine produces and the huge smiles that our patients walk out with.

SANDRA

Senior Administrator

Sandra has been the Practice Manager at Avondale Dental since 2004. She has always loved the challenges that come along with the running a very busy practice and where all the staff enjoy working together as a team.

Over the years, Sandra has got to know a lot of the patients on a first name basis and enjoys chatting with them while waiting for their appointment.

SHARON

Practice Manager

Sharon started working in Avondale Dental in November 2018 after completing Post Graduate studies. She feels privileged to be given the opportunity to work with an amazing team of professionals and enjoys getting acquainted with patients and making sure they receive the best care possible. Her role has since evolved from patient administration to running the Practice.
